Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all work carried out by SJM Plastering ("we", "us"). By accepting a written quote you agree to these terms.

1. Quotes

Written quotes are free and valid for 30 days from issue. Quotes are based on the information and access provided at the time of inspection. Material changes to scope, access or substrate condition may require a revised quote.

2. Booking and scheduling

Work is booked into the diary once you confirm acceptance in writing (email or message). Start dates are best-estimate and may shift due to weather, supplier delays or completion of preceding work. We will keep you informed.

3. Payment terms

• Jobs under £1,000: payable in full on completion.
• Jobs £1,000–£5,000: 25% deposit on booking, balance on completion.
• Jobs over £5,000: staged payments agreed in writing before work starts.
• Payment due within 7 days of invoice unless otherwise agreed.

4. Warranties

Permaguard damp-proofing work carries the manufacturer-backed system warranty, with documentation provided on completion. Warranties cover defects in the specified system and do not cover damage from subsequent works, structural movement, water ingress from unrelated sources, or normal wear.

5. Drying times

Fresh plaster typically requires 4–7 days before mist coating, longer in cold or damp conditions. We will advise on site. Damage caused by premature painting, heating or decoration is not covered.

6. Access and site conditions

You agree to provide safe, unobstructed access to the work area and access to water and 240V power. Asbestos-containing materials, if discovered, will halt work pending licensed removal at the customer's expense.

7. Cancellation

You may cancel a booking in writing. Cancellations made within 7 days of the agreed start date may be subject to recovery of any non-refundable materials ordered and a reasonable rescheduling charge.

8. Insurance and liability

We hold public liability insurance. Our liability is limited to the value of the contract. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Complaints

If you are not satisfied, contact us at sjmplastering@mail.com or 07907 511080. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 3 working days and resolve them within 30 days.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
